Christian Anime Project

About

This is a webpage design to inform people about the Christian Anime Project. C.A.P. intends to hire authentic Japanese studios to create modern Christian anime.

Other Christian Anime

"Superbook", "Flying House" & "In The Beginning - The Bible Stories" are all Christian animes that were made many years ago, so they all suffer from an old school look. There is an attempted fan make of a Christian anime called "Mejika". They developed a bit of a story board with an english dub but had no animators to make it. C.A.P. will not suffer from this problem as C.A.P. will hire authentic Japanese animators to create the anime. The last time someone worked on Mejika seems to be around 2007...

The Grigori

A more recent fan-made project. You can check out their website - The Girgori Anime to learn more about this project.

My Last Day

The Japanese studio, Studio 4C animated a short anime for Campus Crusade for Christ. This is exactly the sort of thing that the C.A.P. wants to produce more films like this. You can help Campus Crusade for Christ as they need funding to translate "My Last Day" into other languages. C.A.P. supports this ministry through pray, money and has made a PAL DVD version. Click to download a PAL DVD version of the My Last Day anime with languages - Arabic, Chinese (Cantonese), English, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Spanish. Also has subtitles for English, French and Spanish. This DVD is using PAL 4:3 format.

C.A.P.'s Next Project

The next project that C.A.P. wants to engage in is an animation based on the book of Jonah. The book of Jonah was chosen because Jesus said, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." (Matthew 12:39-40). This means it will be easy to create a featurette with a gospel message in it based on the book of Jonah (which would be released in the DVD extras when it is made). Also Jonah is a story that flows and can be animated, but it is also only 4 chapters. So it is a short story, which means it shouldn't cost too much to get it animated. John 2:1-11,. Where Jesus turns the water into wine at the wedding in Cana.

Current Project Status

Currently copyright permission is being obtained from Bible translatorsCopyright has been given, and C.A.P. is also negotiating with a Japanese studio to animate the book of Jonah.John 2:1-11. Negotiations finished - price is around $500 000 for a 10 minute anime of the highest quality. This is well above C.A.P.s current budget, So we have hired a manga artist to make a manga of John 2:1-11 instead. This has been fully paid for and is currently being drawn....
